Engagement
Call or email project scope interior or architectural project. We will provide you with a custom fee proposal tailored to your scope of work.
Initial Consultation Meeting
We will meet to discuss the finer details of your project. A site inspection may be required to ensure McShane has the necessary background information to start the 3-stage process.
We will start with the design development questionnaire that goes into detail on your desired scope, vision/Pinterest board, understanding your budget, site survey and not limited to any potential limitations of the site.
The process differs slightly at this point for Architectural and Interior projects, see below for further details.
Architectural Process

This is where we incorporate mood board and initial proposed floor plan for architecture whether we are working with an existing or proposing a new dwelling we outline the limitations of the site and focus on site orientation, contours, function, and desired form and feeling our client wants from the spaces all based on the vision board. Once the vision and concept are established through collaboration we move to the next phase.

At this stage you will have a resolved floor plan for the architecture and the proposed elevations, this is where you can see how the building is positioned on the land, the proposed external materials. It is also the stage where you can value manage the project and send the drawings out to tender. This ensures you’re confident with the cost of the project. Once you’re happy with the resolved design after collaboration on the all the details we move to the next phase.

This is where you are issued construction plans ready for the Builder.

This is an optional extra, during construction. There can be unforeseen details that need to be resolved by the builder and designer. This is where we come in, leaving this to the professional ensures a stress-free process for you. We do recommend the value and find clients that undertake this element result in a seamless outcome from design to construction. We can tailor this process to suit your needs.
Interior Process

This is where we incorporate mood board and joinery concept plans for interiors. Once the vision and concept are established through collaboration we move to the next phase.

At this stage, you will have resolved joinery plans with proposed finishes on a finishes schedule, this is when we show you all the beautiful samples of materials that we have proposed. Through collaboration, we ensure you're happy with the proposal and adjust materials as needed. It is also the stage where you can value manage the project and send the drawings out to tender. This ensures you’re confident with the cost of the project. Once you’re happy with the resolved design after collaboration on all the details we move to the next phase.
